Villagers in Bucknell, Bainton and Stoke Lyne were rudely awakened one sunny day in July 2024 when they found out by letter that a french theme park had decided to descend on Oxfordshire.
An initial ‘consultation’ – a glib roadshow with glossy images intent on selling the park to locals, but not ask too many questions – took place shortly after, while many people were on their summer holidays. Since then, mostly silence.
Since then, mostly silence ensued, until another letter arrived on 28th January 2025 announcing more roadshows – pardon, consultation events – a mere week later:
Following last summer’s consultation on our initial concepts for a new Puy du Fou near Bucknell, and the discussions we have since had with hundreds of local residents, businesses and other organisations, we have now prepared detailed proposals and would like to share them with you.

Doing nothing is not an option: we will have to live for many, many years with the consequences.
