Animal welfare concerns at Puy Du Fou, Spain.

Final Day for Objections to Multi-Million Tourist Attraction Plans Near Bucknell and Stoke Wood

RTVE Noticias and Eldiario.es have reported that workers have been asked to bury deceased animals within the park’s grounds – ignoring procedures for the correct handover, collection, transport and disposal laws.

Welfare issues have not gone away as Puy Du Fou would lead us to believe. As recently as June of this year, Puy Du Fou workers have reported animal welfare concerns

“I was told to pick up a sack, go up a hill, dig a hole, and bury a goose. All of this without any warnings and practically without being told to put on gloves,” recounted a former worker.

In May 2026, an animal cemetery and place for burying birthing remains was reported as being close to the staff entrance and about 500 metres from the visitor entrance. You can read it for yourself. This concerns NORA as the UK would not allow this, and neither is it allowed in Spain, where Puy Du Fou have been reported to be in breach of animal health and environmental laws.

NORA will be informing CDC of these concerns, ensuring that whatever powers they have remaining can be exercised to protect animal welfare and uphold environmental laws. We cannot imagine workers at this multi-million-visitor attraction being expected to work under such conditions.:

“A goose has died—killed by the others. So, it’s been buried and a ‘Our Father’ was said for it.” This is an example of the routine messages—reviewed by elDiario.es—sent in the WhatsApp group where workers and supervisors reported deaths, often including photos. Phrases such as “it needs to be buried” or “take them to see Saint Peter”—expressions confirmed by this news outlet—were used to order the animals’ burial.
